I talked to Mark a couple times today. He is back in the good Ole USA and now has cell phone service. He made it through Minot, ND around 6:00pm ET and was headed to Fargo, ND for the night. Today will be a 1000+ mile day with about 900 miles to go tomorrow to his Mom and Dad's home in Indiana. Mark had an experience crossing back into the USA with a search from the Border Guard... the bear repellent "weapon" given to Mark by one of the Canadian locals was not even questioned but his stash of beef jerky seemed to raise some suspicion. Mark assured the guard the beef jerky was not purchased in Canada. I guess the Border Guard has never experienced a diet of beef jerky while traveling over 1000 miles in one day.
